What part is this? (Rubber Trunk Seal)
About a week ago I opened my trunk and was hit by one of the worst smells Ive ever encountered. I noticed some mold on the top of the trunk carpet. I then lifted the carpet to find my spare was sitting in a pool of water. I found that I was missing a rubber seal (shown in picture). I called the dealership and somehow he couldnt figure out what I was talking about over the phone.
Here is what I'm looking for.

The reason he didn't know what you were talking about is there is no seal there.
The water usually comes through the seals that the rear lights have. Take them off and switch them from left to right if they are not too bad. Don't over tighten too much.

^^^What Earl said. The holes in the bottom of the trunk lid are for ventilation and drainage of the lid.

That happened on my previous SVX. A accumulation of melting snow and tail light seals that leaked. Others have also mentioned sunroof drain hoses and power antenna seals as culprits.

If you open the side panels, check the hoses that should go through drains. Sometimes the hose gets pulled out and drains into the trunk.

If it happens to be the lights leaking, you can do this. Take them out and use silicone to glue the rubber gaskets to the lights themselves. Then apply a layer of grease on the body where the lights mount to. Make sure you put enough to seal everything up.
My trunk used to fill up all the time, but since I did that it's been drier than ever.

If the gaskets are totally shot, you may need to get new ones. I have seen them where they are almost cut in half.

There is a seal for that area of the trunk lid. However, it's integrated into the rear bumper. Requires removal of the rear bumper, then bumper cover to replace. I bought a new replacement some months back. If I remember correctly, it's around $100.
