I KNOW you've seen an old Subie on the road with a broken exhaust. That's what boxers sound like W/O a Turbo. IMHO it sounds like a pair of Harlies under the hood. Not exactly an intoxicating noise, but not an ugly sound either.
H-6's be them Subies, or Porsches, have a staccatto rasp to them. It's not like a V6, or an I6, It's a sound all it's own. Love it or hate it the H6 sounds like NOTHING else.
Just like an STI H4 sounds NOTHING like a Honda I4.

EDIT: I can't hear the exhaust inside my SVX, I like it quiet, but not THAT quiet LOL

Something to consider is the firing order of the cylinders. In the SVX the crankshaft has each pair of pistons offset 120 degrees from the next pair. I don't know if the 3.0L has the same setup, but if not it will be nearly impossible to replicate it's sound with an EG33, because the cylinders are firing at different times.

You want to keep the velocity up, thus the reason for keeping them close to the stock size. Strangely enough, your "unequal" approach may just keep your proposed system from resonating at ~2500-3000 rpms (assuming you don't put resonators in place of the stock secondary cats).

I don't think so, neither one can be the stock length minus the precat, even if one is 20 feet longer.

the sound comes from exhaust being forced up the opposite head pipe just in time to be overpowered by the double dose overlap. Which is why it is possible to get a slight boxer rumble.... but it require far too much effort (R&D) to get the dimension perfectly right to achieve it. Well, more than I would want to spend anyway.

...heck I'm not even motivated enough to make normal headers let alone some crazy crisscross contraption just to get a boxer rumble

It's not really all the difficult...calculate the effective volume of the stock system leading up to the primary cat and make sure you copy it. Having attempted to run a "no secondary cats" system for all of a week or two (), I eliminated the resonance by cutting a Summit resonator (stainless, no packing to shed and trash the primary cat!) into each side.

Cat is pretty far back... may not get up to temp to work properly.
With the single exhaust... what are you doing on the other side to balance out the dual exhaust that should be on the car?

i guess i could move the cat up, i was thinknig of just using single exhuast but it will look bad if i have 2 mufflers at a drift tilt... so i could either stay 1 exhuast muffler or do dual but have the mufflers point straight out... i havent seen any svxs with the can style mufflers on em, can someone send me some pics of what it looks like??

You won't find any pictures of it, because everyone so far, that I know of, who owns an SVX, has enough common sense to refrain from sodomizing their car with such a disgraceful, stereotypical Honda modification.

God I hate fart-cans.

A can style single exhaust will leave a gaping hole in your lower bumper on the right side. Not only will it sound (un)cannily strange, it will look just the same.

Someone did a single fart can exhaust. problem was, they hd to hack apart the rear bumper to fit it, and there was still a hole on the other side

Though, it must be said, your exhaust will likely sound like a cross between the svx and a wrx, which is probably what your shooting for

yourconfused, how does the real dual exhuast sound compard to single exhaust??

the can style muffler isnt just for freakin honda's ... its seen on lots of other imports with alot more HP than a dumb honda... the can style muffler is deisgned for exhuast to go straight through without any abstructions... people who hate can mufflers are entitled to thier own opinoin as is the people who dont care for the muscle car mufflers..

Just unbolt the exhaust right after the two-into-one cat/ before the resonator. I get complimented on the sound all the time.
