So again. Please trade the SVX for some other less rare car. Look on the bright side; it'll be cheaper. |

I've gotten to the age where street racing is not something I choose to do any longer. The very real gravity of the risks scare the hell out of me. I do however still appreciate spirited driving and have no issues with acceleration or top speed runs.
However, doesn't my owning the title to my SVX give me the right to do whatever I choose to my SVX? If one would like to make it into a tire-churning rear drive drift machine, that is their perogative. Conversely, if someone chooses to keep theirs a low-mileage garage queen Grand Tourer, that is also their choice. EDIT: I tend to think most of us owners fall in between the extremes. We love our cars, drive our cars, and respect our cars for what they are. And occasionally enjoy leaving lesser (and less attractive) "sport compacts" admiring our Alcyone rear light bars...

the point was so obtuse
ever heard of bench racing? socialist dictators never have much of a social life. the people at my bar think this stuff is just about worth laughing at and nothing more. clowns are never too smart, especially on a tight budget.

i agree
this is america and if you wanna make a film of police chases go ahead and do it, you just cant be the one who gets away, but if you got blue lights you can drive like a retard in a crown vic on the way to the donut shop and kill some poor guy pushing his car in the break down lane and yes thats a tru story.

I have spent way too much time and $$ to do anything besides drive basically the speed limit and save the fun stuff for auto-x's where the worst thing is that I take out a cone.
We have gotten off of the original point of this thread anyway with the drifting and 3am runs comments. My guess would be 200awhp N/A would be a very realistic goal. Parts needed: 5mt swap Ecutune cams stage 2v7 intake exhaust intake spacers If you wanted to go crazier: polish the head and stacks ceramic coat the manifold

I am really skeptical on the intake spacers... does anyone have any data that they help?

thats because I am not a firm believer they are worth it. Considering I did own the fastest N/A SVX I kinda feel like I know what mods work and don't. So thats just my opinion. I have no issues with people who have installed them or if people want me to install them... But I do not believe they nor the throttle body bypass is a performance "mod".

If anything they are a convenience if for whatever reason you need to touch the manifold after driving.

First of all nitrous makes you no longer N/A and second of all you just demonstrated yet again your lack of knowledge about the car that is being built for you. In my list of parts I put stage 2v7. That is the injectors and MAF. As far as spacers go. I have a set between my heads and my intakes stacks as well as one between the manifold and blower. Do they help at all??? Maybe, maybe not, but with us not being able to run any sort of after/intercooler set up I am willing to do any little thing that has a chance of helping.

Ditto... When I went to the dyno the guy was actually impressed at how cool the manifold stayed. Even with the blower generating lots of heat you could still hold your hand on it after 2 pulls.

TOM, I may need to fund some cams and get on a dyno :P I can't really guess what it is pumping out, but it is MUCH stronger than when it was stock. what did yours have for exhaust when it ran?
