The exhaust gas goes out the back from the two pipes, so it is quite safe in that regard.

Next, you should leave the bootlid open in dry sunny weather with the open trunk [I forgot you call it trunk] facing the sun. This will dry it out completely. One thing to remember is the trunk light. Remove the bulb while doing this, otherwise the long timespan with the bulb lighting may drain the battery.

This works very well to totally dry the area.

[And yes, the water was getting into mine via the light gaskets as well.]
You posted some great ideas, thanks. How do I take out the drain plugs without harming them, any suggestions? I was pushing on them, but I was not sure how they came out. Thank you for your post, it was quite helpful. ;-)

You can usually just get two or three fingernails under one side, and they will come away easy enough.

If you are scared of breaking fingernails, use a [fairly large] flat bladed screwdriver. It will lift them without damage.

Small screwdrivers are not advisable, no torque for twisting them out, and they may puncture the rubber.

A big but not too big screwdriver blade.

Joe

lol...na, not that kind of gal. I pay to get my hair done but for my nails I would much rather play in dirt.

Thanks for another good tip, I may have tried this first. :-) You saved me.

I am so glad everyone has helped me out on this.

I hope that did not come across as a sexist remark. We men don't want to break nails any more than we have to either.

Oh, and I would pay to have my hair done as well, but first I might have to hire a private investigator to check where it all went!

No, I did not view it as sexist by any means and sweet that you asked. ;-) I have never been the kind of gal who worried about nails.

Well, my husband is being robbed by the same hair bandit. ;-) I started getting my hair done at age 30 because I started to feel old. I avoid the unwanted surprise of gray hair taking over. So what I don’t know can’t hurt me. ;-)

Talking Hair bandits, eh?

There is a lot of them on the prowl.

Led, no doubt, by none other than Pauncho Villa.

Heck, I do not have gray hair as of yet, thank goodness. My husband is 6 years older than I am. I can see it on him now. I just prepare for what is to come. I was born blonde and plan to maintain it for quite some time. Lol…I just wish it was as easy to keep my body looking mid 20’s. ;-) I think it’s cheaper to get the body on my pearlie to be like new for what it would cost me to make me look younger. ;-)
