Question Fake screws that hold on engine cover thingy?

Anyone know where i can find those? There's 2 and they hold on the H-6 plastic thingy. In the process of painting all that stuff i lost them *shrug*. I remember someone asking the exact same question in a different thread, but I was unable to find it.

Thanks

P.S. I should have new pics up of painted engine peices and taillights, and my *top secret* interior mod! BUAHAHAHA

Did you lose both pieces from each side?

I got mine from the local dealership but you should be able to find them almost anywhere.

It will cost you more for gas than the actual parts. (unless you walk/bike)

Yes, I lost both. I get out of school early tomorrow (ACT), so I'll stop over at the dealer and check. What did you ask for when you went there? Or did you just show them. Are they used on any of the other subies?

There are several non-Subaru places that will have the clips. You don't need the exact clips to do the job (unless you are Aredubjay or myself)

hehe, well it would depend if the closest Subie dealership was 100 miles away or not. May be more convenient if there is a parts store only a block away.

I initially tried to get a 3rd party (aftermarket ) clip but it didn't hold.

I seem to have lost one of mine so I will be stopping at my dealership(only 10 minutes away max) tommorrow. I'll be picking up a pair for you too SpeedVX. I hate seeing those screws/bolts in there - lol.

I had to replace those too, lost discovered one was missing and when I tried to pull off them cover to examine the fastener system the other fell into the engine bay (bye bye). I think they were $6 each from my local Suby dealer.

Just as a side note: Sometimes the grommets in which the clips fit become worn, and no matter how many time you replace the "fake screws" they'll just pop out. I'd suggest replacing the grommets at the same time, just to be sure.

I have a feeling Randy just likes saying the word "grommet."

GROMMET! GROMMET! GROMMET!

Ok, local subie dealer doesnt have the grommets.
B.C. wanna pick me up 2 grommets too? Subie dealership said $4 for each one!! Maybe I'll call the other dealership like 15 mins away. subaruparts.com is a good price, but $6.95 for shipping isnt worth it.

No, I never go on AIM. I can give you my brother's ICQ # if you want. He's always on and he is in the same room as me (diff comp). He can kick me and tell me to get on. 36476587 is his #. I guess i can leave mine open from now on, but i always get those web links for pr0n.
