New problem...
Well now something new has come up on the good 'ol X. Just about two days ago, Mandi called me, panicked, saying that her SVXwas shaking violently. She was on the highway doing about 50 (wouldn't go any faster at the time). While i was on the phone with her, it stopped doing it and returned to normalcy. So i told her to get here (my house) carefully.
Upon getting a chance to inspect the car myself, my suspicions of a suspension or tire problem were proven not possible. The car does this randomly, at idle or at any speed. It appears that the engine is misfiring, but i have never experienced a misfire quite so violent before. It actually shakes the whole car. It's like a seizure or something...it does this for about 4 seconds, then returns to normal with no sign of any further problems. While in it's "seizure" the car will not respond to throttle input of any kind and the tachometer jumps back and forth in a range of about 500RPM. I believe that this is an injector problem, the same that causes her car to start so hard (requires an excessive amount of cranking to start). But no one else seems to follow my theory. So i thought i would ask the SVX populus. Anyone have any theories, or ideas on where i should start with getting this taken care of? |

Sounds to me like one of your coil packs is going out. Or, at least, those are the symptoms indicated by a post or two I read a couple of years ago. I believe it was Jester (founder of the Yahoo site) who had the problem. Have your coils checked.
