SVX + Moose = a bad day (but could have been worse)

OK, first let me say that I'm a bit late in posting this because it happened over 2 months ago now but I wanted to share.

Here's the story. My friend Ron (another member here) and my brother were on their way to Winooski, VT to visit some mutual friends. They were driving up Rt 89 near Montpelier when there was suddenly a moose running down the middle of the highway, away from them. The traffic in front of them was able to swerve around the moose but by the time they saw what the traffic was swerving around, it was too late to react. They hit the moose right in the hind end and it flipped up and over the car from the driver's front to the passenger rear. The windshield was crushed down onto the steering wheel and Ron's hand got pretty well shredded with little bits of glass. My brother was uninjured. The moose died at the scene. The trooper estimated the moose to be about 900lbs.

I'll include a link to the pictures we took of the next day's recovery operation which are on my work's server. I don't have thumbnails for them and there are some in there that aren't SVX related but they're all from the trip. Be patient with the server, the pictures are big and it's only got a 384kbit upload on the cable internet.

Thanks Michael,

At least the SVX didn't completely go to waste. We pulled a ton of parts off of it and fitted them into my green chasis. So, Ron is now driving around in that one with the 5MT, engine, and such from the maroon one. We'll probably have some parts left over that we'll be looking to sell and maybe recoup a few bucks from this adventure.

how are those X-members holding up ont he 5mt's?? I still reme,ber saying to myself... You are doin what 12hrs before reading???
