I have the capability to make the adaptor plates, but would need one to copy.
I'd be ably to make them for probably about $20 for a set.

Anybody want to sent me one so I can copy it?
I'll send it back once I have the measurements.

$20 for adapter plates for STI motor mounts? Count me in. SVX mounts cost 3 times as much as STI mounts.

So find me a set to copy, and I'll make up a batch....

I'll probably buy a set as well. You may want to talk to Mychailo about getting a mount for production.

Call me silly, but aren't the STI mounts pretty much the same as any other Impreza mount? Just stiffer I would think. Just make an adapter for the SVX based off of one of the Impreza mounts I know you must have in your garage somewhere.

But positioning of the holes would be very important....and I don't have a SVX anymore to test fit them on....

Huck, here are some pictures of the SVX engine mount plate modified for the Grp N motor mounts. (The pics are in my locker too.) In the first picture, that's a 1/4" thick steel plate welded onto the SVX mounting plate. The plate was needed to allow the Grp N mount to fit correctly on the plate. The mounting plate also had to be ground to allow the Grp N mount to fit. I think the holes in the plate had to be repositioned too. If you're going to make up some mounting plates, I think you are going to need some Grp N mounts to figure out how to properly modify the SVX mounting plate.

Modified mounting plate:

Sure, if you want to be technical about it...

Mychailo,
Are the holes in the same location? as they don't look to be moved on the SVX Mounting plate...

If that's all there are to them, I can make them cheaper than $20, Probably less than $20 shipped.

If the SVX holes are in the right place, all it really is, is a 1/4" spacer, so it woldn't really even have to be welded on, just bolted on with the mount.

Hi Huck. I talked with Dave Clark last night about the mounts. He can't remember if he had to reposition the holes, but I do agree with you that the holes look to be in the OEM location. Besides the 1/4" thick plate, the OEM mounting plate needs to be clearanced. I think that if you want to be sure about everything, you're going to need a set of Grp N mounts and a set of OEM SVX mounts and do a bit of comparing.

BTW, I measured the thickness of the OEM SVX mount (without the plate), and its about 2.5-2.625" thick. The Grp N mount is about 2.25" thick.

So you think the adaptor plate should really be 3/8" thick to set the motor in the original position.....this might even let the original plate not need any clearancing...

I guess there are two issues here. The spacer plate is needed to provide clearance with the SVX mounting plate, and its needed to set the engine at the correct height. The Grp N mount does not compress as much as the OEM SVX mount, so it seems to me that a 1/8" or 1/4" thick spacer plate is most appropriate. If you went with the 3/8" thick plate, I don't know that this would eliminate the need to grind the OEM SVX mounting plate.

Again, we know the Grp N mounts can be made to work, so, if you want to make up a set of plate, I think the best bet is to figure out the details with a set of mounts in-hand. If Johnny wants Grp N mounts, then have Johnny send you a set of Grp N mounts and his OEM SVX mounts with the mounting plates.

Well, I have a (Broken) set of SVX mounts, so if Johnny wants to send me a set of Grp N mounts, to use for measurements, I'll send him a free set of adaptors (would probably send him a free set anyway, since they'd be going on my old SVX).
That way Johnny can still drive his SVX till I get them done, as he wouldn't have to remove his original mounts till he had the adaptors in hand.
So, how about it Johnny?
