Re: angel eye conversion

Just in case anyone was still wondering about this. I haven't started this but drew out a wiring diagram for it and know how I'm going to do it I just haven't had the time to sit down and do it, besides that Utah is way too cold in December and my holidays were chaos.

I'm planning on starting this in may or June and will take lots of pictures of how I do it, just in case anyone wants to try it. I decided on doing them white because it's a lot easier to work with power level wise.

I will be wiring them into the cabin with a switch so I can turn them off and on separate from the other lights, like the fog lights. The location of my switch is a secret as of right now, because I don't want anyone to steal my idea before I get around to doing it. lol

Those of you interested in this mod, feel free to do it before me, I'd love to see more pictures of it done. and if anyone wants to figure out the blue or red lights I'd love to see!

Re: angel eye conversion

.

andivic on the network did this mod quite a few years ago. Simewhere is a thread in his DIY.

Look in his locker HERE

He also was one of the first to do a successful HID conversion, and definitely the only one to graft part of an Impreza Outback bumper into the stock SVX unit.

More photos HERE and HERE

Re: angel eye conversion

I know it's off topic, but that looks more like an Outback Outback bumper than an Impreza Outback bumper.

Rob, I stand corrected. It IS a regular 1997-1999 Outback bumper.

At one time, there was a write up in his locker. For some odd reason, he took it out. He hasn't been around for over a year.

Found this YouTube Video and THIS on the MX6 forum.

Re: angel eye conversion

I'm doing it with the clear lenses too, I'm going to make my halos make sure they work and get all the wiring harness built as well as get my button installed. Then I'll run the wires and make sure they are secured then do the clear lenses and install the halos at the same time. I'm going to be running the halos my neons and another set of wires for an aftermarket audio wiring harness through a three fuse box. I'll write a how to with lots of pictures when I'm done! I'll also scan my wiring diagrams and such just to help out those that like what I do!

Re: angel eye conversion

Started these yesterday, my plan is to do it similar to the Integra forums style. I will be using 8 led's per halo 4 will be blue and 4 will be white. they will be able to switch back and forth between blue and white. blue to match the HID's I will be getting and white to make the popo happy, and well the switching ability for the cool factor.

I am in utah at about 4500 ft msl (above mean sea level) and with this I've experienced a difference in oven temperatures with both the clear lense separation for the corners for the smallcar kit as well as heating the rods.

for the clear corners we doubled the time just to get them to separate. but I was very gentle with them pulling them apart as to not damage anything.

For the blind rods for the halos, I increased the temperature to 225 deg. for temp and 10 minutes to get them pliable enough that they would wrap easily. will update more on the process soon.

Also I used a dust off can for the size of the halos it seemed the most appropriate size for our headlights. I will be putting my halos in the fog light position as I think they would look stupid over the cat eyes that our low beams make.
