Because it has a bad tranny and rear diff, so it's been sitting. The rust is on the belt surface, which is normally rubbed off by...your belts.

Anyone think he might have purchased that 5 speed that we had been talking about? The one on ebay and someone asked how many 5 speeds show up on ebay and everyone said it didnt look like they did a good job.
