Finally!

The hard part is over! We have a date for the fall meet! Saturday November 8th is the big day!

Since so many extra people voted in the previous poll for November 8th, even though the November 15th option was not there, I had to assume they could only make it to the 8th. Would have been easier if we got the same participation on the last poll, but it didn't work that way. So hopefully everyone will be able to make it November 8th, this is going to be a good one!

For starters, please add your name to the list here if you are seriously planning to attend. I need to have an accurate count as soon as possible to help with planning and to make dinner reservations. So mark your calendars and dedicate yourselves to coming! Rain or shine this is going to be one of the best Northwest meets ever if enough members show up.

Here's a basic rundown of what will be happening if you are just hearing about this for the first time:

We will be meeting in Snohomish, Washington Saturday morning. From there we will start a 100 mile scenic driving tour that will loop around several small towns and stay mostly on windy backroads and old highways. We will stop for lunch in one of the towns and also have an extended stop at a waterfront park.

The tour will end at the new Vegas-style Tulalip Casino in Marysville, Washington. There we will have a group dinner where we can recap the days events and do some of our favorite meet activities: eat, drink, and talk. There will also be raffle prizes. One note on the dinner, no one under 21 is admitted into the casino so plan accordingly. If you are under 21, you of course can still do the tour and everything leading up until dinner time.

From there the meet will officially end, but of course people can stay as long as they want to hang out, or go off and gamble, play slots, etc.

Hope you have a great Birthday BTW! I just had mine Wednesday and it was pretty low key, no cross country travel.

Back in the days there used to be a couple members in the D.C. area, I forget their names now and I don't think they've posted around here for a long time. You could've looked them up! If I recall, one of them was the guy that had a project SVX with the goal of breaking 200mph top speed. Serious, he had some intense plans going on, even was going to creat a new wide body for it and everything. It seemed as though money was no object. Who knows what happened though.

Hey it was a good thing we didn't go with the date that we almost settled on (tomorrow). As of today, several parts of the tour route were under water and/or blocked by fallen trees. The weather wasn't showing signs of improvement either.

Of course November 8th there could be a blizzard or something. That actually didn't stop us in March 2002 though.

Ah so you were the one! My first sale!

If you are lucky, you just might win a T-shirt at the meet though! It will actually be a different design though, a special one just for the Fall Colors tour.

Yep, everyone that is at the starting point for the tour will get a special ticket. Then, from those tickets a couple of lucky winners will be drawn at the dinner!

Hey Nick, if you happen to talk to Matt or go drinking with him or anything in the next couple weeks let him know about the meet. I left him a message but I'm never sure if he gets them or not. That is one busy guy! And he's not even married!

Hey troy! Yeah, I'll call Matt in the next few days. He mentioned last time he had gotten your message but I guess he is indeed very busy. I'll give him a buzz to see what's up

I forgot to tell you that I did a big pot of BG stew like we had at the last meet (not meat). It was a big hit! We all ate until our eyes were bugging out of our heads we were so full!
