You know how people always say...
...that if they won the lottery or some other exuberent ammount of money that they would get some sort of crappy no responsibility job just to "pass the time"?
Well, I call bullsh!t on that statement. I would use my time fixing up my SVX, travelling to all the places that I ever wanted to go to, and spending many hours with my accountant making sure that the ammount of money I won/inherited was distributed in a way that I never had to work again. There are many many, other things that I would do as well, but the absolute last thing that I would EVER do is get a job to pass the time. There are way too many other interesting things out there to do than waste away in some non-important job. Discuss...

I wouldn't want a job to 'pass the time,' but I do think that I would keep working. I need to remain productive, and I have an awesome job (though it is very difficult and extremely demanding at times).
Or I suppose I'd quit making games and I'd try my hand at rallying or some other form of racing. That'd still be a job, though. Having no experience, I'd certainly have to work hard at it.

i already have my plan - I WOULD CONTINUE WORKING AT MY CURRENT JOB.
why would i want to? well, things would be a little different. i'd probably roll in 1-2 hours late in my slippers and sweatpants, with a raging hangover. i'd settle in at my desk with my big pancake breakfast (no eating at desks), take a short nap after eating, then i'd probably get on the internet. before lunch, i'd mix up a few drinks or crack open a couple cold beers. when the kiss-ass, 'boss's little buddy' behind me says something about what i'm doing, i'd probably walk over to him and 'accidently' spill a full glass of liquid on him as i pass by. after my big spaghetti lunch (at my desk, of course), i'd have a few more drinks and make some phone calls to my friends. i figure by now i'd be pretty lit up, so i'd go to see the supervisors to let them know i'm going home early, and that there isn't a f**king thing they can do about it. i'd continue to do this as long as i could get away with it. i have a union job, so i bet i could pull it off for a while.

I'd open a car shop/restaurant. Inside you could order pizza, subs, munchies, and there'd be car stuff everywhere, and there'd be huge windows where you could see people building, improving, and modding cars.
That'd rock. - Rob |

It would be time to learn how to play the piano and the sax. Perhaps build that sail boat I always wanted to build. Or watch someone build it.And what a post & beam house i would build.

Of course, such a large amount of cash would be difficult to fit in a grave, so for safe keeping I would put it in my bank account and write out a cheque to be buried instead.

OK.. I gave this some thought...
I would invest and possibly buy into the "Hooked-up" AUTO PARTS industry. I would own my own shop and sell a buncha crapy parts on Ebay in hoping to stabilize my income for the duration of my life! |

Depending on the amount of money, two words: Subaru Dealership. And a Subaru aftermarket parts and accesories store to keep the dealership from getting lonely.

I can't win, becouse I don't play. But my boss always says, if I win the big one where gona shut this place down and just build cool cars for whoever whenever we want. Sounds like a good plan, I love making cool cars and the first one I would build would be my hearse.
