paint match

[Conn SVX]

Anyone have luck matching the white paint using Duplicolor spray cans ? My Parts store can't get it in the right color. I did use a Ford white that was close enough to paint the trailer hitch and completely paint the front bumper Looks good . I can't however use it for touch up , just slightly to much yellow. Too cheap to get a QT for $60.00 for 2 small spots.

My white paint was SO faded before I had my car repainted. I've seen others that looked much better. It all depends on the environment the car has been exposed to. There is no way to have an off-the-shelf white paint that will match our cars. After almost 20 years, they're all different.

You may want to go to a good body shop. My experience: I went to a paint supplier to repaint my '97 style grille.. Cost of two cans of paint, custom matched base, can of clear and 1 can of adhesion enhancer $45.00 Didn't come out perfect, good from far, far from good...

Next time, I went to Benevento auto body, where they have a colorimeter and paint mixing on site. They painted grille for $40.00...perfect match!
