I read that one too. I've read a bunch of King books; they're kinda all the same though. >shrug<

The thing with the SVX is it has a speed sensitive throttle, so if it senses urgency in the way you floor it, it will respond. So if you just floor it and do it slowly it wont happen. But if you floor it as fast as you can it will happen.
Another thing is that it does learn how you drive, you may want to disconnect your battery and let it sit a while. Then when you reconnect it drive it how you normally will and it will learn from a fresh slate rather than building on what it already knows.

Someone just posted that the whole 'learning how you drive' thing is complete BS, all it does is learn all the values from the different sensors to optimally tune the engine, just like any other modern EFI car.

The Legacy Turbo's also have the power light feature.

There is no light on the VDC for power mode, all 4EAT trannies have "power" mode.
The "learning" part isn't BS. The TCU on a lot of auto trannies learn the habits of the owner. -mike |

I'm pretty sure its BS. I just read a good thread about it somewhere on this website a few days ago. The "Learning" thing isn't what you think, all it does is take readings of all the engine sensors and ADJUST a little bit to optimize everything.

Since you know it, why ask?

Here's a solution no one has mentioned yet: the bulb may have burned out. I have a few in my car that are gone, including thd "D" on the instrument panel.
