Made the commitment to keep it, now open up the wallet...

After much contemplation on yesterday's hike, I have decided to sink some bucks into my SVX and keep it several more years. Could not justify spending 30K on a new car for driving 20 miles a day when there is a new Tacoma sitting in the garage. But its just as hard to take that every dollar sunk into this 9 year old car will NOT be returned monetarily. Looked into buying a 356 or 912, but figured at least mine had air conditioning!

Got to get it repainted. Felt bad when the gal at the drive up window at Carl's Junior went and got the cook and the manager to show them my car........my grinning face was in there under the roof, which is covered with clouds of decaying red paint. The spoiler looks like pigeons have used it for a roost - New Mexico desert sun has not been good to it.

Got to get a new set of grey mats before they are all gone.

Saw a speck of dirt on my right exhaust, so it looks like the entire system should be replaced with a Stebro.

Guess I'll keep this thing until the parts run out.... Only has 92K, if only my tranny will go 130K (hope, hope).

Thumbs up

You have obviously made the correct decision. 3K will get you a new looking SVX or a '96 Escort. Take your pick.

Ron.
