OT: 93 tbird +dismantled codealarm = no start, help

My friend has had problems with his T-bird's 'codealarm' alarm for a long time, today we dismantled it, pulled neg cable, unplugged everything form the alarm and reconnecte the ignition directly to the starter motor. reconnected battery cable, it started, supposedly all is well, then we did sometihng in the house and when we went out to go somewhere the car struggled to turn over and never did, then the ECC relay started going nuts, and now it doesnt do anything at all... it's got power, the ECC relay clicks normal now, but the starter just doesnt do anytihng at all, complete silence form the engine, tried reconnecting the alarm how it was, no dice, anyone got any idea what happened?
