driveshaft hump? no. Its corrosion/dirt in the fuel gage senders causeing more resistance in the circuit. Other Subaru's have the same problem and a guy in Australia fixed his by cleaning the sender. Of course, it is plenty of work to get them out. Makes sense that they seem to get worse with age.

I have a FWD and it happens with my gas gauge too. It also takes forever for the gauge to go up after filling the tank with gas.

yes the sulfur content of amerincan gas corrodes the sensor. i have a friend who had the same problem with his s10 and he believes that the problem can be prevented by useing clean gas offered by BP (british petrol) and the like. its too late for us tough.

Unlike other Subarus, the SVX's all used the same gas tank whether the car was 2WD or AWD. They all have the "hump".

my low fuel warning light finally came on tonight at 395 miles. guess i should fill up before i hit 450.

what? that is crazy, mine came on at 200 miles. but i think it was just messed up because it went off after a couple minutes. filled up the next day and got 14 gallons
