Brakes...what an expensive pain...
So I guess my front brakes are shot. I'll probably need to replace everything, including calipers.
I'm more than likely going with the Small Car Performance cross-drilled and slotted rotors (all 4 corners), and was wondering if it would be worth it to also get the stainless brake lines they sell. Obviously that's an additional $150 (plus tax, I live in WA), so I want to make sure it's not overkill and not worth the price. Also, which brake pads do you guys recommend that would be a balance between cost and performance? http://www.smallcar.com/svx/brakeparts.htm

Nevermind my post, I ordered this set instead:
http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/show...threadid=23598 Got the bore/slot design. I guess Im the first to order that design in the board, since most people are skeptic about it. We'll see how they perform.

Why do you think the calipers are shot? Unless the cylinder or bore were damaged, it shouldn't take much to clean and rebuild.

I think new seals are only about $20 for all four corners, and it should take a day or less depending on your skills and available tools to clean and rebuild them. Once that's done and you put new pads on, they will be as good as new. Better than new if you get a set of slotted or drilled rotors while you're at it. You were going to spend the money on the calipers anyway.
