Thinking about selling.
I am just FED UP right now.
I installed the 4 channel amp, and that took for freaking ever... I installed my rear speakers. I installed the crossovers. Then the tweeters. Then I took the door apart, and removed the speakers, and drilled out the spot welds. But of course, my new speakers, did not fit. Of course, their specific mounting pattern is slightly bigger than the OEM speakers, so there is no way I can mount them. My exhaust is leaking, and after taking it to Exhaust Pros, they claimed it wasn't leaking. I take it to the dealership and tell them to fix my exhaust leak, they insist that it isn't the exhaust leaking, its the waterpump. So I get that changed, along with my timing belt and seals, and give them $940. My exhaust still f*cking leaks. I ***** at the dealership and the manager tells me that the SVX has 'double walled' exhaust pipe, and thats why they didn't notice the leak. So they take EXHAUST CLAMPS, and ****ign CLAMP THE **** out of my heatshields in an effort to keep them from rattling, and install a big stainless band around one. WTF>??!?!?! Do they do bodywork with sledgehammers?! My front suspension is still screwed up, it rides likea truck with 200,000 miles on it. Ive tried tightening everything I can think of, but nothing works. A rock hit my windshield, and I called autoglass specialists to fill it. They did. And now the crack is over 12" long, and a new windshield is $915.00. And a lady hit me in the 1/4 panel. I'm extremely extremely close to selling this car. I love the SVX to death, but its just really trying my patience. - Rob |

Hang in there. Its definitely a pain installing audio stuff in the svx. I got through it after perserverence. It's definitely worth it.
The band around the heatshield is a reall inexpensive and quick fix to the rattling. Sorry to hear about the windshield and the 1/4 panel. Is she gonna pay for the 1/4 panel to get fixed? This weekend definitely isnt the best weekend for everyone. The source of my car's squeaking was the crankshaft pulley and my car already has a new waterpump and timing belt. But luckily ovidiu stan has come to the rescue. Good luck rub.

Hang in there Rob, I think we've all been there at least once. It comes with owning any 11year old colectable.

Sorry for the moment of losing the faith... I've come back to my senses. I have a rare, quasi exotic, 230hp flat six, all wheel drive touring car. WTF was I thinking?!
Ack. Anyway, I think I'm going to get hte exhaust fixed first. Baby steps. - Rob |

Next time you head to the dealer just tell them to print you up a parts price quote and buy the parts from someone on here. It will save you up to 50% on parts. Parts that are sold over the shop counter are usually marked up an additional percentage over list price and we discount from list.
Example: SVX Timing Belt - 13028AA120 SVX Net Price - $79.96 Subaru List Price - $99.95 Dealer Mark-Up Price - $114.94 The dealership might be a little pissy but on the other hand they might try to match the prices and then you could have a local place to pick up a discount. Jackie |
