What to Do?
I just bought an svx two days ago, and was wondering what i should do with the transmission so i dont have any problems. Where can i get this cooler everyone is talking about, and how much is it? Thanks guys, and sorry for my ignorance, i am not farmiliar with the car as i should be.

Okay, I'm just going to jump in here with some (one) quick numbers for ya. B & M #70255, 16-19GVW. Hmm... guess I don't really know much about what to do about tranny coolers. Of course, the first thing would be to find out whether your SVX already has one installed. Then the next step would be to determine whether you want it installed in series, parallel or replaced. I'll put up a poll for this because I too still need to install my cooler. (for my brand new 500-miles-on-it transmission)

Shat to do?
Also, make sure the SVX has the external tranny filter installed. It may be a good idea to flush and fill your transmission fluid also. I'd recommend synthetic fluids. I like redline. I know some also like amsoil too. To buy the tranny cooler, enough redline fluid, external filter, have the cooler professionally installed and fluid flush and refilled it came to about $525.

Wow. Ouch.
That's exactly what I had done, and even after paying the equivalent of $75USD for the cooler (can be bought on the net for around $50USD), and paying full price for the filter kit instead of the "recall" price, I still only paid $525CDN ($350USD). Maybe you should drive up here to the great white north sometime. VK Quote:

I bought my cooler for $50.00 and paid another $60-80 to have it installed and that was it. Jesus you paid a lot.

The cooler tends to mount behind your radiator. Looks kind of like you have 2 radiators. As far as I know it mounts to your existing radiator mount.
Looks like you can buy them here for $49.20 http://www.carshopinc.com/product/BMM.shtml I haven't got mine yet...and debating if I should. I'm not sure if my new Subaru warranty would be valid if I did.... Ryan

Well if it's like any tranny cooler I have seen before it is cake. Just get it mounted, unhook your current lines and put them into the new cooler. Check your fluid level and top up as necessary. Done....my guess with a decent lift, it shouldnt take much more than half an hour to and hour at most.
