Re: any 5x114.3 8in wide fit?

My BBS rims are 17x8 and fit just fine. +53 offset. I only rub a little because my car is lowered about 3" in the front and one or so in the back.

Re: any 5x114.3 8in wide fit?

I have been actively looking too and have been struggleing to understand what will and won't fit. I still find it confusing, but I am coming to the realization that it is the bolt pattern and offset combined with the wheel width that determine if they will fit.

I found this offset calculator to be pretty handy. The SVX wheels are 7.5 width with a +55 offset. Put that in on top and put the specs of the new wheel on bottom and it will tell you if they are closer or further and how much they will stick out.

Re: any 5x114.3 8in wide fit?

Tons of wheels "fit" man... Stock STi BBS's fit the SVX just fine. If you want a nice stock alternative (16x8"), RX-7 "FD" wheels are a great option...

When I sold my SVX a few years ago, we took one of my 18x9.5" Axis Reverbs off the STi and bolted it to the rear of the SVX, then lowered it down. It wouldn't go down all the way (those wheels had a 25mm offset), but it DID show us that with the proper offset wheel and a nice stiff suspension, we could probably get 9" - 9.5" wheels on the car no worries...

Use the Offset Calculator:
http://www.1010tires.com/wheeloffsetcalculator.asp

and Tire Size Calculator:
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

combined with measurements you take to work out the best size wheel... Obviously rolling your fenders will help get a little bigger wheel in there as well. I see you are up there in IL. There MUST be some good Suby shops up there. See if you can enlist the help of one of them... Anyone can tell you stuff on the internet, it's your choice to believe them or not. But good, real world HELP is hard to come by - and almost ALWAYS cost something. With the SVX, always be prepared to pay if you want to start customizing things

I'm running 17 x 8 Ford GT wheels http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/05-09...item19c50fe473
I think the offset is only 40 mm but no rubbing problems with 235 x 45 tires.

Re: any 5x114.3 8in wide fit?

Volk TE37's are pretty much my all time favorite, but at $6-800 per rim they're a bit much. Rota Grids are a rip off copy, but only cost ~$900 for the set. I'm eventully planning on running a set of 18x9.5 Grids.

Re: any 5x114.3 8in wide fit?

If you are searching for wheels, if they fit a 2005 STi in someone's fitment guide, they fit the SVX. Just don't go by what some random dude on the internet managed to stuff under his STi since the AutoX/Stance people fit far wider rims than is practical for street usage. In fact, just never do anything the stance idiots do.

Rota makes a huge selection of styles for the 5x114.3 pattern and are cheap. Also the 2008+ STi normal rims look quite good and might be more avalible than the 05-07 rims which also look awesome.

And why is that? Its the cheapest way to get into the nice wide rims. That's where I came up with race steelies for the racer that were 10" wide, lighter than virtually anything else on the market before you even considered the $600 cost.

I see no difference. Both are just poor immitations of great originals that would have been better served had Ford built a sports car or supercar for today, not retro rides of something they got right 40+ years ago.
