Bought this Laguna (w/ cupholder). Restoration Project

Yesterday, Eric, Jon and I went to pick up this 94 Laguna LSi.

Sometime during February, I had spoken with the previous owner after seeing the car at a Dunkin Donuts shop (before damage on the right side). He had expressed interest in selling the car once the summer was over. After several short messages, phone conversation, etc over the past few months, and an incident that left the car significantly cosmetically challenged, he made the decision to finally sell the car to Jon and I.

Once completed, this car will be Jon's daily driver. Eric and I agree, that this car was indeed a great find for the price, as we have the panels that need to be replaced. With some paint on the replacement panels, tires, an engine reseal, and a full detail, this car should serve its purpose very well.

The car also included the window sticker, owners manual, factory cupholder, and child seat anchor sealed in the original packaging, along with some service documents from the original owner.

The car is currently covered in a film of dirt, grease, oil (from the car smoking due to seal leaks) and general city dust and grime. The last owner was also a heavy smoker and avid coffee drinker, so we have our work cut out for us.

Photos in next post, and this thread will be updated as it progresses.

That cup holder don't even fit correctly. I bought one and I made the guy refund it on ebay. I got this one that somebody custom made and was selling them on ebay for a while. It fits much better.

This sentence "don't even work" correctly.

The cupholder is the LEAST of my concerns. (See: "Bodywork")

My cupholder fits fine, it just tends to come out with larger drinks. Sipping on a large coke with a cupholder on the bottom of it is a funny sight.

Wow, there's a few scratches on this one. Knowing you, it'll look better pretty soon.

Aside from the body work issues, that car looks cleaner than mine when I bought it.
