Whats the FASTEST car you've owned.
I know we love our SVX's, but was just wondering what is the Fastest car you've owned. Mine was my 92 Mustang GT 5.0 with lots of mods, and my 93Cobra, all stock except for exhaust, and gears. My 92 GT was a low 12 sec. car, and the cobra a high 12 sec. to low 13 sec. car. Yes I was a gear head from 1992 to 2003, 5.0 mustangs was all I thought about. Subarus were just winter beaters, then I got the SVX bug and Im here to stay. I suppose one day I could own another stang, but the SVX has captured my heart.

I don't really own the corvette, so my SVX is the fastest car I've owned (seeing as it's the only car I've legitimately owned).

Probably my 96 Camero police interceptor. I picked it up at auction. I was 20 when I had that car, and its a wonder I didn't kill myself with it. No idea on quarter mile, but probably mid 12 seconds.
Second would probably be my '67 Chevy II Nova SS. Big Engine, Little Car, two speed transmission. Then an 03 Dodge Ram 2500 turbo diesel, 305 HP, 555 ft lbs. Deceptively fast. Then my 66 Mercury Comet Cyclone Then my 00 Ford F250 V10 Then my SVX.

Quickest or fastest?
2 TOTALLY different things. Quickest would be my deceased 1974 pinto with the injected, turbocharged, and N2O huffing 2.3L 4 banger under the hood. Only legit 1/4 pass was a 10.98@117 mph... lifting early due to an overboost/detonation issue. Fastest was my 1974 455 SD trans am with 2.47 gears. "ford 9" rear swap with gears from an econoline van" Quickest and fastest vehicle period was my 1989 suzuki katana 750 with race build 1127cc engine from a buddies endurance racing gsxr 1100. Jim

Your SVX's stance and wheels look very nice. Two thumbs up!!
Mind telling me what is the story behind the picture above? I thought it was an XT6 for a split second. The cop cars behind it should make for an interesting story.

1969 torino cobra - 428 cobra jet, heads bored 60over, 3spd auto, 3 deuces, headers, some major weight reduction. It was really loud, and really fast, rebuilt specifically for drag racing. I miss it quite a bit, but needed too much work. Wasnt really suppose to be driven on the street.
As far as a street car, the fastest I have owned is my 1982 928.

fastest: '87 928S4 (land speed records of 172mph in '87 for this model from the factory)
quickest: '05 Legacy GT stage 2+ (probably a bit under 5 sec 0-60mph)

Quickest(tie)...'82 Mercury Capri (Mustang clone)... 4bbl 5.0 roller motor, toploader 4spd trans, 3.73 posi rear. It'd only do about 110mph, but it was QUICK! It surrendered to cancer.
'74 Olds Omega (Nova Clone)...'69 Rocket 350, crane cam, headers, quadrajunk carb, th400 trans, 3.08 gears. That car lived on trans & rear axles. As long as I drove it like I stole it, it'd hang together. If I babied it, it'd break. I traded it off for a '72 Chevy pickup. Fastest...'74 Mustang II... EFI '88 5.0 H.O. AOD trans, 3.55 gears. I saw the high side of 145 in that car, and still pulling. Unfortunately it was also getting airborne at that speed. An untimely separation of cap from conn rod killed it. That said, if my SVX didn't have 240+k on it, I'd say it was the fastest.

Fastest?
Fastest has to be interpreted as highest top speed. In that case the SVX is the fastest car I have ever owned.
Both Legacy twin-turbos were quicker than it, and so also was my Renault 5 GT Turbo, certainly to 60 or 100 for sure. Like some of the other guys, fastest [and quickest] vehicle is my current motorcycle. My Honda Blackbird will see 300 km/h on the clock pretty quickly. I think that's 180 something. 0-60 is something like 3 seconds, pretty quick anyway, you have to hang on tight. Joe

well, I have a feeling that my 68 Dodge Polara would eat my SVX alive (Scary thing is I think the SVX is heavier by like 50 lbs! and the Polara is HUUUUUGE), it's 260 HP from the factory (383 2bbl) but it's got forged flat tops and a 440 Magnum cam in it, but I'm still running the stock 2 barrel slobberator since I don't have a 4 barrel carb for it yet. (And it's having fuel delivery and brake problems, so it's currenty keeping a large portion of my driveway dry... (And I do mean LARGE, it's 18 feet 9 inches nose to tail, and it's a good five and a half wide... )
Aside from that, the SVX is the fastest car I've owned.
