A/C fanbelt or Idler pully rubbing against plastic cover when car warms up?
The Fanbelt or Pully for the AC unit appears to be rubbing on the plastic engine cover after the car warms up?
Has anyone sean this before? PS, i did replace with non-Subaru belts back in DC...

That is a pretty close fit in there Eh?
I have not had that problem. However I do know the plastic timing belt cover will warp. Purhaps it has moved out and is making the problem. It could also be that the idle pulley is worn out and has a lot of play in it. It could also be the the bracket for the pulley is not tight. Is the pulley fulling into the slot for the bracket?

I have had the bearing wear out in the idler pulley from the bolt not being tight enough allowing it to wobble. End result was a big hole burned into the timing belt cover. I don't remember how much the pulley cost but it wasn't anything alarmingly high.

I just re-tightened the belts, and it appears the pully WAS a little too loose,or to the left, causing it to rub the plastic ever so slightly, seems to be ok now....but now I can hear something else...uh oh
