Deltawing - the future of auto racing?

The Deltawing project has my attention, to say the least.
  • half the weight of typical LMP1 cars
  • half the HP too (1.6L turbo 4)
  • half the aero drag!
  • uses half as much fuel
Stability is supposedly not an issue despite the looks, in fact the designer says the car is inherently stable where 4-point race cars are not. One of the keys is engine placement between the wideset rear tires, with very little option to move it fore/aft lest that balance be disrupted.

It's cool. I can't wait to see how it does at LeMans.
