Re: so close to being mine
If the love for the svx is there, he'll be fine. I bought my svx when I was nineteen, sophomore in college and dirt broke. Had to work my ass off just to make the monthly car payments. Ten years later, three transmissions and thousands in other costs do I regret it?....heck no!
Good luck with whichever way you go subarujawn! |

Re: so close to being mine
i should be able to get the SVX this Thursday.
i cannot wait to get it. yes subix, i love my XT6 its solid little to no rust thats why i want keep it out of the winter. bad enough i went threw 2 accidents in the snow, simply because i didn't have good winter tires on (lesson learned). i have to agree, i to have thousands in my xt6. - Mike the svx is now sitting under a pine tree, has for months now, better in a garage than a pine tree. Re: so close to being mine
What was in that box .?
Soooooooo you gona drive it home? We want a full report of how it goes. We have all been routing for you (may not seem like it ) even though we are trying to protect you . Take before and after pictures and work in progress Shots. IMHO I would drive it around for a week before I poured any serious money into it. Of course the ride home will tell the story too. (how many miles ) In my heart i wished we could have hooked up with the Guy in Westport Conn. ( I am beginning to believe he is just a teaser ) that had the 5speed. I could have met you and Subert |

Re: so close to being mine
Take lots of pics. I'm excited for you. Like the others said, these cars can be very expensive to keep running, but you don't seem like the type of guy to give up easily. It's all down to luck anyway. As long as you can get it to where you want it and can maintain it there, it's so worth it.
Take lots of pics and post them up. I, for one, am very excited for you.

Re: so close to being mine
They really are just trying to watch out for you bro. Even if they seem discouraging, they mean well. We've seen a lot of people get an SVX, not realizing how much work/cash it will take to keep the car going, with no backup car, and be forced to part it out or sell it for very little. Passion only takes you so far, unfortunately. But it can take you pretty far.
