Power Steering Line Leak
My PS line going into (or coming out of) the steering rack on the passenger side closest to the bell housing is leaking. It's right bellow the 4 gray electrical plugs.
It leaks where the steel line meets the rubber hose, which is kind of S-shaped. I think it's corroded in there, but am unable (and think it's unwise) to get it off without cutting the rubber. Have not separated it yet. It's the only short s-shaped hose I see so, I think it's the return hose, part #4 here. Can I replace that hose with high pressure 3/8" fuel line? It's going to be fun to get off. P.S. at least my rack is not leaking! |

Either A. the steel line has a pinhole in it, or B. the clamp was leaking. I'm guessing clamp, rubber hose, and am replacing it with 3/8" ATF line that I have around and worm clamps. We'll see how it goes. |

Re: Power Steering Line Leak
Why not just replace it with the right kind of atf bulk hose?
If a pin hole, can the replacement hose be pushed on farther to take care of that pinhole?? It is a return line, right? Keith Last edited by kwren; 08-17-2008 at 06:37 PM. Reason: more stuff |
