Why would someone paint a car this color?

Paint the spoiler black, swap out the seats (or have them upholstered in your choice of finish) and replace those stolen brake lines. Driving the car without brakes really is a hazard.

This WAS Dayle's car. Look at the photos below. The first photo is from the Ebay ad.

The photo below is from Dayle's website. The green JDM spoiler on the black trunk paint scheme and even the wheels are the same.

i like the colored spoiler, i did it to mine. it gives the car a sportier look, the black deck with the black spoiler at first glance makes the trunk look too tall/ it's hard to even tell it has a spoiler in passing. the color is different, i think a bit brighter would have been cool, but it works.
