zex+track bite= exploding differential

I have retired my fwd svx from racing since last month at the track where my svx put the smack down on a awd modded 13.5 at 100 eagle talon.I clipped him at the line but my car didn't hook well at all I ran a 13.57 at 109.I heard a funny noise that got worse that I thought my axle had broke. After removing both zexkits I had ammco do a warranty repair,my differential had exploded,my racing days are over until I can get my hads on another svx with awd, hopefully with a stick.Funny things is I don't even have LAN software,I will go all out with my next svx with the soft and a three stage monster nos kit,50 shot in 1st,75shot in 2nd,and a 50shot in 3rd if needed, this sounds wild but I have mastered the two stage already.I think my nos powered car will run a twelve if the supercharged cars don't by this summer. That night of the breakage I used a 50 shot wet in first and a 100 shot dry in second gear.I never car get used to how hard the svx pulls on the bottle.

gas mileage

On my xmas trip to Macon,Ga. my svx hit about 380 miles to a tank which around 75-85 mph.The svx is awesome on the highway. What do you guys think about my gas mileage,I think its sucks. My 94 camry gets 460 to a tank and only has a 14 gallon tank and 278,000 miles, but the svx has twice the power.

What can I say Walter...

Amazing times but the front diff on your fwd SVX has to handle the brunt of the abuse at the track and I'm not surprised stuff broke.

Your gas mileage seems normal for an SVX. Most I've gotten was around 420 on a tank but that was w/o the hvac system running. If you had your heater on during that trip, it would eat gas more...

Good lord...you're getting 380 to a tank? Sounds pretty good to me. And 460 to a tank on the CAmry? What, you have a lil refinery in the trunk or something?

Walter,
How are you staging the Zex kits? Are you just manually activating each one? What size jet are you using for the 50 and 100 shots?

Alright Walter. Come spring time lets see if that SVX can handle the 6 speed with a 100 shot wet. I am buying Jesse's complete nitrus kit but I am going to swap out the 165 jets and replace them with 100 shot jets. I will be running my Stage 2v5 Software on the lowered timing codes with a progressive controller or just a timer. Should be able to hit low 13's making over 400 horse. Anyway, let me know if you want me to build you a 5/6 speed

You are one wild and crazy dude Tom! Looking forward to your results...

You may also want to look into some 245/45/16 sized summer rubber for your RX-7 wheels. They'll easily fit on those 16x8" wheels.

Well Tom I truly think that if you can turn a low 13 your're running my best which was a 13.2 but the main reason I don't make any meets is that I expect something to break because the car hooks so good. Also I will be looking into buying your 14.5 all motor baby and strapping two guns onto her and really run a 12.The jetting for the dry is something like a 52 on the nos side and a 42 for the fuel but I used a 36 jet.Now don't quote me on these jet sizes,I would have to pull them outand zex really don't to sell you any jet size over a 75,I really had to threaten the guy for the 125 dry jets. Also I thought my gas mileage was crappy after several shots of oxide.

Tom why would you won't to put a timer on the nos kit, trust me you really won't to make that big baby move.I would engage the 50 shot shot at around 5000rpm in first and the car would wheel hop and everything and bring in the big shot if needed in second gear.I have some old video of the svx running a 280 turboz with a 35 shot.If anyone have the means to upload it onto the site I will send them a copy.

My 14.5 sec car has been sold. It resides in Georgia as of now. I am talking about my bone stock 6 speed that I will be working on this winter. Should be interesting!! Well good luck and BTW I am going with a 100 shot wet from NOS.

Agreed. I just know you hate using the term NOS and prefer N20... However, I realize the brand of nitrous kit you're buying is made by 'NOS'.
