Re: Toyo might be the ones to be for me!

WEEBITOB,

SVXCESS (John H.) has Toyo Proxes 4 tires on his SVX. Contact him and ask him about them. I think he likes them.

But that doesn't matter since I am getting them at the STS auto center for $104 per a tire, which is the lowest price I have ever seen V rated tires in my area for store retail. I got first dibs, k?

But is anyone on this already have a pair of these on their SVX and if so, tell me how they're like? If not, then consider me a guinea pig.

You may be thinking of the old British Avons-the all new Avon tyre name is owned by Tirerack and made to their clients specs.

My pal has them on his Goldwing and loves them.

I got a set a month or so ago. No complaints. We'll soon see how they do in the snow

I like my Contiextremes as well. Their only drawback is the flat spotting. They do round out about 10 miles down the road. Great wet traction. I have yet to get them into snow. If they perform well in snow I'll probably put a set on my Forester.

Is tires101.com kidding with their prices?? You use them for forums only, no? My F1 GS3s were almost $100. a copy...

I went with the Sumitomo's. I liked them alot, especially in the snow. Price was low for what you got compared with the others. The Conti's I had before were horrible.

I got my Avid V4's for $75/tire

Did you know Sears will price match an online price?

Check out www.discounttiredirect.com, find the ones you want, print out the page, bring it in to Sears and they'll match it plus $7.50/tire (what they estimate you pay for shipping)

P.S. I got the price for my tires off a cheaper site, but I can't seem to remember the url right now

My college friend who has an '03 Blue-by-you Evo VIII went with Sumitomo's and loves them. Great all-season tire at an even better price!

Big downfall with the Sumitomo's from what I've heard is their tendency to go out of round. That said I have some Srixon's on my XT6 and like them very much. Can't complain about getting tires installed for $240 for such a weird size 205/50 r14s

Sorry I have to break this to ya and the rest, but after looking at reviews on the internet with my dad (Road & Track's High-Performance tire comparison article) and not to mention hearing it is the same tires the 2005 Mustang GT uses, he demanded equip the SVX the Bridgestone Traction T/A Vs. And since he does co-own the car (since he paid for half of it, only after finding out he likes the SVX as much as I do ) he opted to pay for the tires. I eventually came around to accepting it. Well the good part is I am getting tires that from a specifications point beat the Proxes 4, not to mention mountain plus snow rated (meaning you are supposedly able to go up a ski hill with these without a problem) and even though he is spending more money, approximately $30 dollars more at ETD (my parents trust that place). And about $50 including tax and a 60,000 mile replacement warranty which is a plus, not to mention free tire ration every time you go there or at least ask which we could have gotten anyway without the warranty.

But from how many people voted for the Traction T/A V and considering it is a new addition to the BFGoodrich line I guess I am obligated to report how it does in snow as well on the SVX.

I voted for the T/A - V rated, but don't think I need the snow report

Although a big cold front did push through and it went down to 52 overnite - thankfully it not supposed to be that cold tonite

not trying to convice your Dad to not buy at a place he trusts, but Sears was running them (T/As) on a sale that put their price at TireRack's (and below once you consider shipping).

I know I heard about their policy to price tires based on what you show them is online. But still it was out of his pocket not mine and my parents also know one of the main mechanics. I even talked with him and he is very nice, helped me clarify what an airfilter was when I sort of freaked out , I was somehow thinking intake cone at the time with thought of them replacing the airbox with it.
