Now that 5 speed sounds nice!

Talking White SVX Spotted!!!!

It seems that I have become the official SVX spotter - I saw ANOTHER SVX that I have not seen before!

The bad news was - I left my camera at home!

The good news was - I was able to talk to the owner!

Rego : BJ - 117
Monday, 1st November, 6:30 pm.
Wilona Avenue, North Sydney.

I was visiting a friend in the area, and I was just about to park when I saw a white SVX only 20 meters from where I was going to park!!!!

I quickly pulled up beside it, and had a good look, while waiting for the owner to return.

I didn't have to wait long....................

.........the lady owner was quite surprised to see another SVX parked next to hers!

She told me that her SVX is a 1992 model with only around 120,000 km! She is the second owner, and she has owned it for the last 8 years!

It makes sense - her SVX was in EXCELLENT condition!!

I gave her my details, and the address of the forum, so hopefully she will join!

.............note to self - ALWAYS REMEMBER TO TAKE YOUR CAMERA!!!!!

Jason.

Hi James, that is bloody cheap for an " automatic turbo" model.

Talking Silver SVX Spotted!!!

I cannot believe it........

........I seem to be able to spot SVXs without even trying!!

Date : Saturday, 27th November 2004.
Time : 12:45pm.
Location : Ryde Road, West Pymble (corner of Ryde Road and Lady Game Drive)
Rego : AFO-37R (I think!!)

I was turning off Ryde Road onto Lady Game Drive, and while I was waiting to merge onto Lady Game Drive, I see a silver SVX pass by on Ryde Road!!!!

Unfortunately, I could not re-join Ryde Road to chase it!!!!

Maybe it was just as well - because judging by the condition of the paintwork on that SVX, it seems that the owner has not bothered to look after it!!

I think that I should be allowed to "confiscate" that SVX - so that it can get the care that it deserves!!!

Jason.

You Aussies have a right good sense of humour!

I can't believe you have places like Ryde Road, intersecting with Game Lady Drive.

You guys!....

Date : Wednesday, 2nd February 2005
Time : 6:45 pm
Location : Pacific Highway, St. Leonards / Gore Hill

Once again - I could not chase it!

However, I happened to have the sunroof open at that time, so I stuck my hand out and waved as I drove past!!

........I hope the driver saw me!

Well done but...

colour boy, colour I say!!

The accepted version of a sighting is:

"I was driving past another SVX going in the opposite direction about 6 lanes of traffic away in peak hour at 60kph....I saw it through a gap in the traffic out of the corner of my eye for a split second but managed to observe that it was triple tone silver SVX with a half-erect aerial, front llight covers with a small crack on the lower rear portion; a small scratch about 5cm long running from just under the rear view mirror in the direction of of the bottom of the car; the driver was a middle aged male, approx 80kg with brownish hair, frameless glasses and a small mole just above the cleft of the chin wearing a beige polo top and Seiko digital wristwatch on his recently tanned arm; the registration plate was a black and white NSW plate SVX-123 with no clear cover but a frame stating 'SUBARU of BANKSTOWN' although the rear window had an SVM Lindfield badge - it did not have a towbar and the wheels were facing the wrong direction...other than that, I did not really get a chance to notice much about it in the limited time I had"

......I forced my long suffering wife to hand me the camera, a pen and note paper and reach over and hold the steering wheel while I hung out the window!

SVX- Best kept secret...

James, forgot to include:
* full description of all passengers, in age order
* what their weights might have been based upon the ride height of the vehicle at the time
* the types of tyres and wear pattern
*what type of car polish he/she used based upon degree of fade under the prevailing UV and light conditions.
* whether it was running rich or lean (via smell sense)

All this could have been easily picked up in that nanosecond it takes to recognise it as an SVX across the six lanes of traffic. I know, I can do it.

Cheers, Mark.
