Wrong, Chike. The term "hardtop" referred to the APPEARANCE of a convertible with the windows down. The Skyliner was a "retractable" hardtop, but not a hardtop convertible, which makes no sense whatsoever, but as Descartes once mumbled, "Who am I to judge these wacky Yankees"?

So there. Ron.

Who cares if the SVX is defined as a coupe', sedan, chariot, or truck. Just enjoy the driving.

PS: Ron, I didn't know that Descartes was an Orioles fan. I always thought that he rooted for the Cubs.

And since the doors are framed in metal where the glass on the door meets the roof, it is also makes it a sedan...or does it? Technically the windows that move up and down within the doors are frameless and would qualify as a coupe if it were based on that alone, but technically, only part of our windows drop and technically the framing around the windows makes it a sedan by that definition.

Johnny (thinks calling the SVX a 2-door sports sedan makes it even more unusual than it already is)

The article says more than 33 cu ft of rear interior volume, not overall interior volume.

My Impreza was 4 doors with no window frames

I usually think of 2-door as coupe and 4-door as sedan. if you took a shopping mall survey, I think most of the "general public" would see it this way.

As far as "wagon" being too dorky, call it an "estate" if you can't wrap your aesthetic eroginous zones around "wagon"

If the SVX was re-released would it be considered an SUV by Subaru?

Ummm........I'm not sure if this was a joke or not but the Legacy was in production while the SVX was still a prototype.
