I'm not sure I understand your results: did you get 40.7mpg or 407 miles before the low fuel light came on?

In either case, for any SVX, those results are good! If you drive all highway, at 70-80 mph, these cars get great mileage!

-Chike

P.S. My best mileage to date is about 340 miles before the low fuel light came on. But that was with my CE light on and my car in 'safe mode'. Once I replace my knock sensors, my mileage will only improve!

Remember I was getting 200 mpt during the winter? I'm getting like 300 after fixing my cams and it's still only 50-60 degrees out.

Never screw up your cam alignment. Trust me.

I think he means 407 miles before the low fuel light comes on.
That is pretty good. I usually get a little over 100 miles per each 1/4 tank and it ends up being 26-27 mpg on long trips.

Today I fueled 29Litres on 350km

I don't , by heart, know what that is in mpg, but it's good! (but not record, the best trip to work , 400km's, I'll had was 28L on 350km)

But I have a "Euro" model and drive on our "regular" -95 octane.

I think the most miles I ever went on one tank was 440. I believe I still had 2 gallons of gas left too. I'll have to check....I wrote it down somewhere

Found it. 423 miles was the most I've ever gone on one tank. Gas light came on at 412. Still had 2.4 gallons left when I filled up. I averaged 26.7 MPG.

Highest MPG was 28.5. I travelled 371 miles, all highway, 70-75 MPH, AC on, and used 13 gallons of gas.

I used to own a FWD SVX and it did use less gas, but it wasn't a huge difference. I'd rather have the AWD and lose 1MPG or so.

in over 2 years of ownership, i haven't broken the 27 mpg threshold. on the contrary, i've only had one tank less than 20 mpg.

I converted my figures from 29L/350Km to 28.35mpg and the 28L/350Km to 29.37mpg.

My average is so far (GPS calibrated!) 27.41mpg

One thing that I have noticed and later verified is that my SVX is very sensitive to a speed increase from 60mph to 70mph, my average road speed is ~62-65mph when I get the best mpg, if I go ~70mph it's ~25mpg.

I've been getting like 20 to 22 mpg on average. My commutes are usually stop-n-go for at least 50% of the 40 miles I drive. this isn't the best car for that kind of driving, but I'll gladly pay the extra for the accomodations it provides.

My last car was a 1990 CRX Si. got 33mpg if I romped on it all day, and 36 if I took it relatively easy. 40's aren't uncommon for long drives. keep in mind, it spins like 3000 RPMs at 60. but it's spartan at best. very purpose built. it was fun to drive around in it like it was a go-kart... but I don't miss it much when I can actually hear my stereo at 80mph, and I'm not sweating through my pants becuase of the nice AC.

PS - torque is nice too.

I'll be driving to Portland, Oregon tomorrow (375 miles) and I bet that I'll average around 33mpg easily. I'll let everyone know when I get back.

P.S. K&N Air Filters really improve mileage!!
