hello

Hello my name is Joseph and I bought a black 92 SVx LS-L about a month ago. All I have ever owned is subarus. My firs car was a xt (I still own and drive it) then a 84 wagon 4wd i got for free then an XT-6 and now I sold the 6 got a loan and bought an SVX! I love it. Its condition is perfect inside and out.

I have had no problems with it untill just recently. A ticking noise comes from the flywheel (it seems). Sometimes it is not as noticeable. It does it when I accelerate but can here it most when I take my foot off the gas and when the car is idling. It's kind of embarissing to drive it now. This sucks!!!! Anybody had this problem?

Do a search on Heat sheilds or Resonators. I think you will find the answer you are looking for.

Heat shields or the resonator are good guesses, and definitely something to look into. But if you're convinced it's something in the driveline, it could be very, very bad.

The SVX, having an auto in it, doesn't really have a flywheel. But the driveplate has been known to crack or shatter. If you rule out an exhaust noise, I'd get it looked at right away.
