Most Legacys, and Imprezas, just look on the rear diff cover.

i can feel when the missing tooth/teeth try to mesh it's horrible

the 5 speed swap would be nice but i don't have the 1000 bux that it's gonna cost me to do it yet

i don't even have the money to find a salvage yard transmission

altho putting in the 4.11's in the svx w/ the auto would be nice,

i figure while i'm in there w/ the tranny pulled i'll try to fix the solenoid 3 (which is what i hope is why my awd is broken)
It is the lack of AWD that has caused the diff to break. Without the AWD being able to engage the rear wheels, the front wheels have been spinning. The front diff has had a lot of impact loading that has broken a tooth off.

The US version should be treated easy if the AWD is not working, as there is no other way to prevent the front diff loading up from wheel spin.

Harvey.

i know that it broke because of the added force of all the power going to the front wheels

that why when i fix it however i end up fixing it, i will be repairing the AWD...

i think the 4.11's sound like a great idea, depending on how the car is w/ the 4.11's in the auto... i might keep the auto since i plan to add other power addons, and the 5mt is not the best of transmissions for high torque applications the 4eat is strong tho, just gonna have to get that trans cooler..
