another ignition switch question...

OK, maybe two questions.

1. how do you get the large lower steering column cover off? it just did not want to come off, and i didn't want to crack it. yes, i removed all the screws, but couldn't find the right way to wiggle it free. halp!

2. the ignition switch has a white plastic connector on top with two wires going to it (educated guess tells me that they are the accessory power wires.). i could see no way to remove this sucker - is there a trick to getting the connector off???

thank you for helping restore my sanity - if i get this fixed my clock will always have the correct time and i can use my radio again!!!

I just had mine off yesterday to fix my loose ignition switch. I could not get it off unless I took the lower trim panel under the steering column off. If you never had that off it can difficult figuring out how it comes off. It mostly just clips on but there is a plastic screw on the bottom and a screw behind the parking light switch that must be removed.

i got the plastic screw, but i may have missed the one behind the parking light switch. was scared to crack the plastic. thanks!

what about the white plastic thing on top of the ignition switch with the two wires running to it? is it a 'connector' that can be removed, or is it a permanent part of the switch? will it be pretty obvious if i get the switch out?

Not sure what that is,didn't really look around in there. My objective was to replace one of the screws that had fallen out of the ignition switch.
