Took the SVX to the track

this is the best run of the night
it was hot, and humid

i could've broken the 16s barrier if it was 5 deg cooler, or less humid

http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/files/NomadTW/9836.gif

the slip is wrong on the temp btw

it was about 85 degrees the svx said 86
and it was like 92 on the start line

hurrah for test and tune nights

there are no mods to the svx

the only things w/ it are the broken AWD it's all FWD, and i took out the spare tire..

Kind of hard to read the slip. Anyone know where the closest track is to Centre county PA?

what did u race a mini van gesssh 18 seconds LOL .. the 60" time was horible for a AWD. but again our svxes are tanks with automatics.

with some practice and luck should break in the 15s,, not that is impressive bye any way.. but for a svx it would be

whene it gets cold here again ill put some stock rims and tires on again and pull the system out and try to run a 15.4 again this time i wil scan the slip in

I would try Maple Grove Raceway in the eastern part of the state, but I believe I read there was one closer to you.

i don't have AWD
that's why the 60ft are so bad

we figured if it wasn't like 85+ the car would've run a lot better, it was humid too...

we figured that 15.4 or so would be completely dooable if it was like 60deg and less humid

we tried to not beat on the car and launch hard either

i think i'm gonna look into getting a set of 14" steelies and some low prof 14" tires to help bring the track times down...

You're not getting anything on there smaller than 16". I've even heard stories that some 16's dont fit.

what is this all about??

What a waste of time!!!

Wanna drag: get a 5.0 Mustang

All this stuff about 14" and 15" wheels is pure bullsh......t

this car does not drag and was never meant to: too heavy and one weak gearbox: I wish you amateur racers would just get over it!!!

Next thread was how it blew up and now you have no drive, no money and no luck1!!!

Brad,
I had a blast driving your car at the track. 16.1 was impressive considering how freaking hot it was. I was sweating waiting to stage. I think that was the best run of the three cars we ran that day. There is no doubt in my mind that if we had one more run in at the time we hit sheatz we would have hit 15.xx. That last run was with the trans in 1, brake torque till about 2000 rpm and WOT all the way down the track. You said I got some wheel spin on that last run? If I did I don't think it was too much.
