It's always something it seems

Well about a week ago my SVX transmission started slipping between 1st and 2nd so started investigating putting in a new transmission...

This week my wife's 2001 Legacy GT 2.5's engine decides to blow a head gasket. That has got to be fixed top priority. So the SVX will go on the back burner.
Oh and the cruise we were talking about (our first ever) just got pushed back big time. Oh well I guess that's the result of driving two aging cars.
Waiting for something to go wrong with the 1997 legacy....lol

Simply put; the SVX eats transmissions, the 2.5L eats headgaskets, and the 2.2L eats miles and miles of road without trouble. At least you've got something in your stable you can rely on. I miss my old Legacy, those guys are tough to kill.

Sorry to hear about your troubles though.

If it makes you feel any better, cruises are overrated. Maybe it's the fact that I was 13 years old at the time, or that we cruised Alaska instead of the tropics, but I came away from the experience more disturbed than anything. Get them cars fixed, then take a road trip in the '97.

Re: It's always something it seems

lol. yea my daughter asked why her 2.2 has not had any problems. I said they go forever without and real problems...

Alaska cruise is what we really want to go on. Not interested in the tropics...too hot.

yea the Legacy engine is already out and being repaired.... The SVX will probably come off the road for a while until I'm ready to get a 4.44 swap done
Thanks
