Parking tickets! YAY!
So I got my first parking ticket ever yesterday! Horray!
Apparently the city of Cumberland is cracking down on parking violations. Let us never mind the annoying, crazy homeless lady who steps in front of traffic regardless the speed(Note: Her name is Kathy and she is the ONLY homeless person in the city of Cumberland). But the parking violations are becoming a real problem in the city.. You know what they say: "If you ignore a parking meter, the next step is raping children." WTF is wrong with this city? My girlfriend has been parking on the same street for four years now and suddenly a bored cop decides to stop and ticket about three cars on her street. The ticket is not much.. Hell twenty-five dollars is nothing compared to some tickets for different states. But I received a twenty-five dollar fine for parking "against traffic." I didn't even know that was a rule till I read the ticket! I also had a rant not too recently about a douche that drives an Acura who keeps parking 3 inches away from my car.. Well not only does he do that, he parks in a red zone, in front of a stop sign, by a hydrant, AND against traffic!! What did he get for his transgression? Nada.. Guess I'll park the correct way from now on... And tell the cops to patrol on the street more often to make some money cause I don't like being one of the only people to take the fall for something everybody does.. I guess rules is rules and we must OBEY!

You should see traffic violation penalties around here man!
Passing a red signal for example will cost you $1644 and you have to go to court for this along with a minimum of 3 days imprisonment. The minimum ticket that you can get here is for $137 (lightly speeding, around 5miles off the chart).

When we got together for a family Christmas in San Francisco, my mother got a parking ticket for not having her wheels turned the right direction, think the fine was like $50. The city makes its money that way, finding ways to screw the average guy or gal out of their money. I was 10X more pissed they did it to my mom than if it happened to me.

In some cases it's absolutely ridiculous. Like you said though what pisses me off is how everyone does it and then I go and do it once and I get a damn ticket. Crappy luck lol.
