I would say they are both very lucky to be breathing after this.
Racing, and/or pushing a car to the limits should be reserved for the track, and never done at street level.....ever. I would be happy to have the opportunity to use a track, and have been able to in the past.

But, sadly this happens all the time. Pick a place, and look for records of this kinda thing. I know there is an effort to make tracks more accessible to the public. But if that is the answer, or part of it, then the effort has to get more momentum going.

Stop the effort all-together? No. Then you turn the streets into an even bigger Hell-Hole because of racing, and accidents.
