Group Buy on Aluminium Radiators
My car has just crossed over the 200,000km mark. Im on my 2nd radiator and will need another one very soon.
Can I just say the genuine SVX radiator Sux! And we all know it. Not to mention it's way over priced. RRP is $1600. I contacted PWR Performance and they can make up an all aluminium radiator for $841 including shipping. I was wondering, if there is anyone out who needs a new one or is looking to upgrade theirs, would be interested in a group buy. Even if we get 10% off, that's still $84. I think it's in all our best interest to consider this and keep the SVX Alive!!! |

Do a search for PWR + Radiator and you'll find a few of us already have them. The current price in the US is $500 (local dollars) shipped to the 'lower' 48 states. How does that price compare to 'Down Under' dollars?
Cheers,

when you say shipping to Australia...what exactly do you mean?
They list the RRP as $835AUD. Are you saying the extra $6AUD is for postage from the Gold Coast? Matt |

My understanding on the PWR radiators being sold in the US is that they were made in Austrailia and shipped to the US.
At today's exchange rate, 500 USD = 677.159 AUD. I don't know what the shipping charges would be to ship it to Australia, but you might actually save money by buying one from the US. Dan |

That's crazy...and PWR in the states would be making a few bucks out of it...wonder what PWR Aus charge PWR US?
Must check US freight. Matt |

I have been away for a while but just picked up on the idea and will be happy to join the buy as I will need one for sure. I have two SVX so might buy two of them.

welcome back Tony.
I'm still curious to find out why it's cheaper to buy something from the US, when it's actually made here in Australia. That doesn't make sense. I've dealt with PWR in the past, so I'm hoping I can talk to them again and get some sense into them. If the US can sell them for $500USD, that would include a margin, and the freight over from Australia. So why can't we buy them locally for the same margin, without the freight. doesn't make sense to me. M |
