My check engine light comes on intermittantly, its an error code 34 (ERG Valve) cusing my problem, no real poplem regarding drivability or damage, just needs the sensor replacing (according to Subaru Penrith)

You need to access the diagnostic connector (black plug) under the driver's side kick panel.

Do not touch the yellow plug - that one is for the Select Monitor.

Next to the black plug, you should find two blue wires, with exposed connectors.

You need to plug one of them into a particular pin on the black plug - I will find out which one when I check my service manuals!

Once you have done that, turn the ignition to "ON", but do not start the engine.

The "CHECK ENGINE" light will then flash all fault codes that have been set by the ECU.

Jason.

I have the details!

To access the "Read Memory" mode - which displays previously stored fault codes, you need to connect one of the blue wires to pin number 2 of the black connector - counting from the top left, with the connector tab facing up.

Jason.

Thanks...yeah low. Wasn't too slow actually. I was prepared for it to be slow given the power to weight, but I was actually surprised.
