Recommend me a tranny cooler

OK, I am finally going to put on an exterior tranny cooler, so can someone recommend one that will cost me less then about $80 and be relatively easy to install, but also effective? Maybe im wishing to much here, but if anyone knows of a specific brand, let me know.

Doesn't matter what you get as long as it's duty rated for a truck.

Got mine from Autozone online.

I wouldn't think any one is any more difficult to install than any other.

Do a search and you will find a couple threads that give a couple of brands and size that members have found to work good for them.

Sometimes I forget I have more space then most people.

Whatever you get it'll need to fit in front of your radiator somehow.

A core rather than single pipe is typically more effective. Do a search, the wealth of knowledge will enlighten you!

B&M 70268 ATF cooler. Along with the cooler, its a very good idea to install a spin-on ATF filter mount. Best prices for the cooler and filter adapter are at Summit Racing.

Oh yeah and IMHO your an idiot to go to the hassle and expense of putting a cooler on without putting a gauge in so you have a clue what your running at and when you should be changing your fluids.

The cooler on my Pearl is mounted under the battery with the plastic skid plate cut out. Almost creates a Ram air style set up. May not be the best place to put it depending on where in the country you live, but here in SoCal the roads are decent and most of my driving is on the freeway.

I've learned having a intact skid plate is imperitive to keep dirt off the engine.

True though, the best design depends on your commute.

In my setup it has replaced the ac condenser. It's right in front so it get all cool air at speed, but it's harnessed to the radiator so at idle they can share heat and help bring the operating temp to where it needs to be.

The nice thing about the set up is the cooler takes up that space nicely and just replaces the plastic that was there with Cooler.
