Unhappy

Hello to all,
will much appreciate some help. My 92 SVX has severe cold run problem. Briefly, starts just fine-then begins to run very, very rough. Sometimes dies and in no case will reach 40mph. If dies will restart. Approximately one to two minutes after temp gauge reaches normal operating temp the engine smooths out and runs great. Have changed temp send unit, new plugs, fuel filter, air breather and air flow sensor. Have had throttle body and intake cleaned professionally($100). No engine lights come on.
Will surely thank you for help/suggestions.
Regards,
jon:

Jon, this sounds like you need to get it professionally diagnosed at a dealer. You've done most everything that I would suggest already. You may have a fuel pressure problem, so you'd need to install a gauge and check it before starting and while the car is warming up. I have never seen a fuel pump on an SVX fail so I can't say that would be my first choice. You could have a pressure regulator problem. I've chased gremlins like what you describe for hours only to find one wire in a loom intermittantly grounding. And the fact that the car is cold can affect it, the harnesses in the engine compartment aren't nearly as pliable. I'm sorry I can't be of more help, but you've done everything that I would have checked already, now you have to get down and dirty and find someone in your area with a select monitor and a some talent.
