A/C Questions
I have had this problem for years and decided to try and get answers or fix this A/C problem. The air comes out cool for around fifteen minutes or so and then stops blowing cold air. One diagnosis was a relay or thermostat in the condensor overheating causing cool air to stop. I just took it to the dealer and they say I need a new compressor and receiver/dryer $900.00 They said the compressor is rattling away. I just did an ac code check and got-188 two different times. This number isn't on the check list. Anyone have any ideas based on this. The car just went over 90,000 miles. Thanks.
Mike

-188 is what happens when you press off and auto...its just the whole temp display lighting up.....you should get a code after the vents and stuff run through one full cycle. I just did it yesterday and pulled a code....i believe that if nothings wrong it should pull a 0

Since you have a 95 SVX you have the r134a....i would get the system recharged first....refilled with freon and see how that works before ya go doing what the dealer says.
