The 2wd is much faster than the awd and handles evry bit as good as the awd. I have driven both and the difference between the 2wd and awd is like day and night. The 2wd is much lighter without its transfer case and rear.
I'll have to mention that if I ever sell mine.

You know, he's right. I've held a Subaru 'transfer case' in my hands many times and that sucker's gotta weigh at least ten pounds.
