Legacy misfire

My wife said her Legacy's 'Check Engine' light was on last week. I didn't get around to checking it before we left, but today before I pulled it out of the garage I plugged in the OBDII reader.

'Misfire in cyl 3 detected.'

I suppose it's time to change plugs. I probably haven't in over a year, and she drives a lot. I don't know when the wires were last changed...

Hi Nick, as it uses double ended coils and a wasted spark, the fault would have to be at the plug itself. A bad lead would give a fault in 3 and 4 cylinders. The plug is either showing a high or low firing voltage.

Harvey.
