clanging sound when turning at speed

I recetnly just had my rotors and brakes replaced. Now I hear a claning sound from the front passenger wheel well when i take right turns at speed (or go onto onramps etc) Before I take off my wheel(or take it back to the shop) what might be loose?

I also have these swishing or faint scraping sound when I take a left at speed from my front driver's side wheel well......


Atleast my squealing brakes are completely silent....

At what degree and speed are you turning the wheel?

Would you think it's possible the brake dust shield is rubbing against the rotor while turning?

Its possible. Im hoping so, because that would be the shop's problem. Right now they are thiking that the after market rotors are too big! They were the same diameter, but possibly thicker...

I got them from rotors direct a long time ago....

COuld it possibly be the rotors contacting the wheel when turning?

What ever is rubbing, is beveling the rotors, so its go to be some hard metal.

I think I can see it happening in the rear and fronts.

This is horrible....

Woudl shims help?

Well, it does appear to be the brake dust shields! The shop bent them out of the way, and so far the horrible scraping sound is gone.

It appears the aftermarket rotors were much thicker than the stock ones and was rubbing?

I hope the new ones are thicker Wouldn't want to replace them with rotors with less life

I guess they were thicker to the point that turning the wheel caused clearance problems... still cant quite picture how it would hit the shielding....

That's a load of crap from the shop that did your brakes. No way that thicker rotors could hit the dust shield unless they bent them upon installation.
