In our instant gratification age and live reports from the front line, the media over-saturates the public until the next story comes along. It breaks my heart to realize that many Americans don't even know the areas where our soldiers are fighting. I try to keep in mind that the liberties I enjoy comes at the expense of many young souls.

Chris,
I have the greatest respect for you and what you are doing to protect us. Admitting to us that you stepped over the line just proves to me that you are a good Marine who understands the words Honor, Courage, and Duty.

To everyone else,
Whether or not you agree with our government's decisions, you must realize that you have the right to do that. In many places that right does not exist. Many people do not have the opportunity to change the path of their government every four years. I can't imagine living in a place where the ruler will remain the ruler until they die or are violently overthrown. To me, Americans who do not go out and exercise their right to vote don't understand what it means to have freedom.

Doug

Phil.

And cheers to you, Phil, for letting bygones be bygones. This is a damned good bunch of people, and I'm proud to be associated with y'all. Whether or not you agree with my political, spiritual or other views, thank you for "tolerating" me. I'm glad to know ya (an old southern saying that means a lot ).

Nevertheless, let's not let this good intentioned thread degrade into deep discussion. Let's thank Chris, forgive the infraction and move on. OORAH!
