Question 11th hour tour change

Wow we are getting down to the wire here, but just a quick question for those that are planning to attend this Saturday.

For those that are staying for dinner, would you be disappointed if we didn't go to the big casino?

For those that are not staying for dinner, would you be able to do the dinner if it was at an all ages establishment? Or are you just not able to do the dinner no matter where it is?

The casino is a really cool place, at least to visit once even if you aren't into that kind of thing, plus the food is good. But right now there are only 25% able to do dinner and I've got a lot planned for the dinner, like I've said, this is going to be a Jr. Reading meet or something.

Any thoughts?

No problemo, still glad to have you on the tour itself, that is where the real fun will be!

I'm mostly asking the 2 or 3 that have told me or posted that they will have minors with them. Whether a change of venue would allow them to attend dinner, or if they have already made other plans.

We won't be staying for dinner...I decided that it's just already a really long day, coming from way south. Also, a friend is having a b-day gathering that evening, and it would be nice to make an appearance even if for only a short time.

Emett and I would go to dinner, and I think Dan would as well.

Let me know.

Here's the deal

Changes are afoot!

For the better I think.

A couple of things have come to light in the planning process, one of which is that the day will be a long day, especially if dinner was added on to it. An event of this length would probably be more appropriate if it was integrated into a full weekend type meet, where everyone is staying at a hotel, camping, etc. Lodging options were certainly offered this time around, but there was not much interest since everyone is fairly close. Fairly close, but not close enough to stay out all night and then have to still drive home.

Another thing is that we are starting in the morning and then driving all day until dinner. There are breaks where one could eat lunch, but then if they were going to the dinner, it might be too soon. Maybe it was just me, thinking with my stomach.

And of course the last thing was I really did want everyone to be involved in the dinner because we have a lot of new members coming for the first time and I wanted a chance for everyone to sit down together and get to know each other, maybe discuss some future events, stuff like that. And I have a couple of prizes I want to do a drawing for, just for fun.

So here's the new plan, which should be reflected on the web site by tomorrow, but at this point, who cares.

We already had an hour break scheduled in Arlington, which is right about halfway through the tour and around lunch time. I'm going to expand that to an hour and a half and make it a group lunch. I've contacted a place in town that serves Italian food and pizza, and the best part is that since we'll have around 20 people they are giving us our own banquet room!

I'm still going to end the tour at the Casino, it really is a good departing point right by the freeway. And we can still take some car pictures in front of the nifty landscaping if we want. And of course those that want to can go in and check out the casino afterwards.
